Admission Process
Admission of all eligible candidates to the B.Ed course shall be made by the Centralized Admission Committee of University of Jammu constituted by the Vice-Chancellor of the University. (a) At University of Jammu: All the candidates are required to apply to University of Jammu before the last date notified by the University for admission to B.Ed. course. Admission of the candidate following under various categories shall be made by the Centralized Admission Committee on the dates notified by the university. The admission will be made strictly on merit in respective categories. The college shall be allotted to a candidate during the counselling session by the Admission Committee on merit-cum-choice basis subject to the availability of seat in that College. All admissions to the B.Ed course in the Non Govt. colleges shall be provisional and subject to Confirmation by the University. (b) At the College: The candidates who have been selected for the admission to Vivekananda College of Education, Lakhanpur (Kathua) shall contact the College office immediately after depositing dues at the University along with the fee receipt. They are required to fill up the College Admission Form in the College office during working hours, get it checked from the College Admission Committee and deposit the college dues & application form in the office of the College.
Important Instructions:
Selected students after being admitted in the college will have to abide by the rules and regulations conducive to healthy atmosphere for instructional work.
1. The B.Ed pupil teachers are expected to maintain high sense of discipline and responsibility during the course.
2. The student shall not indulge in any kind of politics, anti-social or subversive activities during their stay in the college.
3. They will not accept or retain any full time or part time job in any institution during the period of training except 'Earn While You Learn' scheme offered by the college.
4. No student of the college shall appear in any other examination of any university so long as he/she is under B.Ed training course.
5. A student remaining on unauthorized absence for continuously 15 days shall be liable to be struck off from the college roll.
6. The students shall not avail any leave unless they have valid and sound reasons and that too not without prior permission from the college authority. The leave must be applied on the prescribed form.
7. The use of any drug and drink is strictly prohibited and offender can face rustication. Any kind of ragging on or outside the campus is strictly prohibited.
8. Those students whose performance in the assessment tests and class tests is not satisfactory are liable to be detained by the head of the institution from appearing in the University Examination.
9. The students admitted in the college are required to attend all classes, tutorials, house meetings, practicals, micro and macro lessons including internship regularly to earn eligibility to appear in the University Examination. Under statutes governing B.Ed examination, candidate must have attended at least 75% of the total lectures delivered during the session falling which they will not be allowed to sit in the University Examination. The students shall follow the instructions issued from time to time in respect of punctuality, regularity and participation in curricular & co-curricular activities. The head of the institution can fine, suspend and in serious cases even rusticate the defaulters from the college.
10. The Medium of Instructions for the candidates from outside of the J&K state is either Hindi or English and the medium of instructions for the candidates from J&K state is English only.
